Utah Wildlife Action Plan

The Utah Wildlife Action Plan is a proactive, science-based roadmap to conserve vulnerable species and habitats before they reach the brink of extinction. Our goal is to prevent listings under the Endangered Species Act by addressing threats early—through collaboration, education, and on-the-ground action.

Why It Matters

Utah is home to a rich diversity of wildlife, from native trout and migratory birds to desert species found nowhere else. But many of these species face growing pressures from habitat loss, climate change, and invasive species. Waiting until a species is endangered is often too late—and too costly. By supporting the Utah Wildlife Action Plan, we're ensuring healthy ecosystems, vibrant outdoor recreation, and resilient landscapes for generations to come.

What We're Doing

Stakeholder Collaboration Campaign

  • We convene state and federal agencies, conservation nonprofits, hunters, anglers, landowners, agricultural partners, and outdoor recreation groups to align efforts and put the Wildlife Action Plan into motion.

Public Awareness Campaign

  • We share success stories and highlight urgent challenges through digital storytelling, traditional media, and educational outreach—building broad public support for wildlife conservation.

Volunteer Engagement and Action

  • We mobilize individuals and communities to take part in habitat restoration, invasive species removal, wildlife monitoring, and other on-the-ground conservation efforts directly tied to the plan.
